Ultimate 7-Day Tokyo Trip: Budget and Itinerary Guide

If you have read my articles, first of all, I thank you! I’ve put my effort in explaining the detailed things to watch out in certain areas. But then, I realized some just want a snapshot itinerary they can copy and digest in just a few minutes.

And I’m like that myself. I just want to know where to go, how much time to allot, and how much money to save up for it.

At the very least, that’s what I want to know at first before delving into the specifics. So I hear you! And here is my Ultimate Tokyo 7-Day Itinerary with the budget per day.

Ueno Park

But do take note that this will come with a high price tag. I suggest just share the foodie finds with your friends. Be prepared with cash!

After the Akihabara tour, you can choose to go back to your accommodation in Ueno and then transfer to a new accommodation in Shinjuku.

Day 5: Mount Fuji + Robot Restaurant

A trip to Japan wouldn’t be complete without seeing the iconic Mt Fuji. Luckily, you can just buy a day-trip in Klook for your Mt Fuji adventure. It’s also cheaper this way. You can check this link out.

If you are also curious about the quirky robot restaurant, you can include it in the itinerary for this day as well.

7:55 AM –   7:00 PM Mt Fuji Tour. Pick-up at Shinjuku and Drop-off back as well.

Disney Sea

Day 6: Disney Sea

You may have gone to other Disney Lands abroad. But I tell you, Disney Sea is one of its kind. It’s not too “kiddie” compared to the other parks. Even if you are an adult, you will actually the gondola ride amidst the sunset in Mt. Prometheus, the heart racing journey to the center of the earth, or the vertical drop from the tower of terror.

If you can, include it in your itinerary. Although, I suggest you leave the park 1 hour before 10 PM. You don’t want to join the flock of tourists going home at 10:00 PM.

Pro Tip: You can also bring a lunch set inside. Maybe from a convenience store from last night. It’s not allowed but they don’t really kick you out for eating your sandwich. I remember bringing some food from the New Year’s “Media Noche” meal in plastic containers. You will save a lot by doing this.

Check the prices for the tickets at Klook. You can also get a bus transfer from Shinjuku from here.

8:00 AM – 9:00 PM Enjoy Disney Sea.

Budget:

7000 PHP – Tickets for Disney Sea for 2

 2600 PHP – Transportation Budget for 2

1500 PHP – Budget for Food (Lunch and Dinner) for 2. Can be way lower.

11,100 PHP Total (Roughly 22,000 Yen or 220 US Dollars)

Day 7: Free Day for your flight

Now, the cost depends on what you will do during this day.

But with regard to transportation to the airport, I highly suggest that instead of taking the train to Narita Airport, take the Limousine bus from Shinjuku instead.

The reason for this is that, for rare instances, the train rides can be delayed especially if there were any bad weather conditions in the past days. I had a friend who had to pay a 30,000 Yen uber ride just to catch her plane.

With a limousine bus, you don’t have to worry about that. Check this website for more information on the schedule and fees.

Budget:

3100 PHP – Limousine Bus Ride to Airport (Roughly 6200 Yen or 31 US Dollars)

In summary and a few more tips:

Additional tips, you can buy unlimited rides for the Tokyo Metro subway. You can significantly decrease the transportation costs with this. Also, choose a hotel with free breakfast to save on food costs. Groceries also such as Maruetsu mark down their (in my opinion) still fresh bento boxes at 7 PM. You can pack this for your lunch the next day if you need to.

Budget:

 3900 PHP – Day 1 Ueno + Sunshine City

 5870 PHP – Day 2 Asakusa + Odaiba

 7400 PHP – Day 3 Tsukiji Market + Ginza + Imperial Palace + Akihabara

 5990 PHP – Day 4 Shinagawa + Harajuku + Shibuya + Shinjuku

17350 PHP – Day 5 Mount Fuji + Robot Restaurant

11100 PHP – Day 6 Tokyo Disney Sea

 3100 PHP – Day 7 Free Day

54710 PHP Total for 2. Not including your flight cost, hotel, wifi, and shopping money.

Phew! All this planning makes my head hurt so that you don’t have too. With that, I hope you have a great time on your Tokyo trip!
